After working as a reporter and editor for various print and web publications including The Christian Science Monitor, AgriData News Service and Agri-Pulse, I’m once again working as a freelance journalist. The best part is that I’m always learning – and learning from great ‘64 classmates such as Tom Stites, founder and president of the incredible Banyan Project. (For more on Tom’s pioneering work as a journalist, see www.banyanproject.coop/biography/tom-stites and www.ephs1964.com/class_profile.cfm?PQD=0&member_id=5677328.)

Importantly, each of us has countless opportunities to make this planet a better place for everyone. Currently, too much effort remains focused on how much mankind can extract from the planet, regardless of total-impact costs. My goal as a writer and researcher is to contribute to the health of the planet, thereby enhancing health and well-being not only for those living today but for future generations. When there is greater environmental and economic understanding and consequently when we create better policies and procedures offering reduced life-cycle cost with greater health benefits, energy efficiency, environmental compatibility and economic sanity, everyone gains.

Current focus: Energy, Economics, Investment, Renewables, New Uses, Environment, Environmental Stewardship, Agriculture, Conservation, Farm Bill.

School Story

Most memorable teachers: Waite, Von Szeliski, Savacool, Jigs Gardner
